B.A of Science in Spanish Secondary Education

Here are 10 things about me. 1⃣ My name is Mariza AKA: Sra.Dávila-Madwid 2⃣ I’m forever 29 years old! 3⃣ I teach Spanish to grades 9th-12th in a small town in Connecticut. 4⃣ I grew up moving a lot due to my dad’s work as a pastor. (Probably lived in over 20 houses by now, 2 countries and over 10 cities) 5⃣ If you haven't figure it out by now I'm a little obsessed with llamas. (My husband is getting worried) 6⃣ I'm also super proud to be Peruvian (the food, the llamas, the culture, Machu Picchu, my team making it the world cup, you name it) 7⃣ I have a fur baby and I spoiled him way to much. He has his own insta @edgar_the_gato 8⃣ I believe that building relationships with my students it is one of the most important things to motivate them to learn. I know sometimes they don't have a choice. They take a language to get into a good school or to fill a requirement but I try to show them everyday that I really care. (You can't make everyone happy though and that's ok) 9⃣ I'm a former DACA(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient, AKA "Dreamer". My family and I came here when I was 13 years old, things did not work out for my parents when they applied for permanent citizenship so I didn't know I was undocumented until I was about to graduate high school. I have been advocating ever since and I'm so blessed to be a permanent resident of the US. @ct4adream 1⃣0⃣ This is my 5th year teaching high school. I have learned a lot since my first year. I find myself always learning and improving myself as a teacher. I love the teacher Instagram community. I always find something I never knew about and I also love sharing my daily teacher life.
