TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been a middle school teacher for over 10 years. I've taught all areas of science including chemistry, physics, Earth Science, biology (living environment), astronomy, forensics... I also teach night school to nursing students which covers basic biology - mostly anatomy and physiology.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to make my labs inquiry based and hands on. The more interested the students are the better!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've earned Character Education awards, many honor society awards, a Green Thumb award for starting a recycling program at my school - just to name a few.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to SUNY Stony Brook for my bachelors. I graduated at the top of my class - Cum Laude - with a degree in Biology and concentrations in marine biology and medicine. I received my Masters of Science Education from SUNY Albany, where I was a graduate assistant in science education working closely with many of the professors on lessons and other teacher based items.
