I started my first year of teaching in 2006. I taught kindergarten during that first year. (Bless your hearts kindergarten teachers!) I have taught first grade ever since, and I LOVE absolutely everything about it. During my ten years of teaching, I have served as a TAP mentor teacher, technology coach, and math coach. Currently I am teaching an iClass. All of my first graders have an iPad, and it has opened a whole new world to me. I would find it very difficult to go back to teaching in a traditional classroom. I feel very blessed to do what God created me to do each and every day!
I love each and every one of my students, and they know it. I believe a child can only thrive when they know their teacher cares deeply for them. I love to laugh, and I love to make my students laugh. I try to have fun no matter what we are learning, but I also believe there is a time to be serious when we need to be. Children learn through experiencing the world around them. In my classroom, I strive to give them as many opportunities as possible to interact with our world and to participate in authentic and meaningful lessons.

I graduated high school from Pius X High School in Lincoln, NE. I attended community college in both Nebraska and Arizona before finally attending Arizona State University. I graduated with my teaching degree in December of 2005. Most recently I earned my Master's Degree in elementary education with a reading endorsement from Northern Arizona University.
I am excited to share my creations with you. Most of the stuff I have has been created throughout my years of teaching. I am a true lover of education, and believe teaching is as much of an art as it is a science.
