The visiting examiner commented that; “The displays, seen as a whole, were a visual extravaganza……Students confronted and researched “issues” which they all approached with great confidence. The activities were innovative in both content and delivery. The use of sound and video was a major feature of the submissions, as was the ambitious scale of much of the accompanying work…..the art was contextually and technologically challenging…. On occasion, the soundtracks and accompanying images were so emotionally charged they required no explanation……this is a course which exudes good practice, addresses contemporary art themes by encouraging experimentation and provides students with opportunities to demonstrate their developing knowledge, skills and understanding. The work was particularly noteworthy for its risk taking” Mael is also a Senior Art Examiner and a professional artist. His work is currently in collections in the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Holland. Mael is totally committed to education and helping individuals develop creativity, knowledge and understanding.
