TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught third grade for four years in Virginia, then followed my husband's job overseas. While we were overseas I subbed in a Department of Defense school and even did two long term jobs as the music teacher- which was a learning experience for everyone! We just moved back to the US and I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I want to keep my skills sharp and continue to develop activities for friends as well as revising material I used in my own classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I loved using hands on activities and centers as much as possible in my classroom. I was able to attend Marilyn Friend's co-teaching workshop while working in Virginia and that helped me focus on co teaching with specialists who pushed in to my classroom. It was a great experience!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and minor in Psychology from the College of William and Mary. I started my career working with senior citizens in a Continuing Care Retirement community. I greatly enjoyed my work, but felt something was missing. I went back to school to become an elementary school teacher, and I've never looked back!
