TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am an elementary librarian/media specialist. I have worked in the same school for 13 years. I teach 30 classes a week in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As an elementary librarian on a fixed schedule I do not have a lot of time with my students each week. My goal is to create fun, creative activities and lessons that also teach the objectives I want the students to learn. My lessons typically can be taught in 20-25 minutes. I teach in Virginia and we have not adopted the Common Core standards so my lessons and activities are not aligned with the CC. However I do plan on adding these standards soon since so many other states do follow these.
