Together we have over 20 years of teaching experience. Amy and Ed both changed careers to become high school teachers in some of Chicago's neediest schools. In addition, Ed has also taught at one of the best high school in Illinois. Before the leap into teaching, Amy was a manager at a large advertising firm and Ed just started his post-doctoral studies in molecular neuroscience.
Though we were in different departments, Amy was an English teacher and Ed was a science teacher, we developed cross curricular lessons that integrated science books with reading, writing, and hands on science experiments.
Amy has a National Board Certification in Adolescence and Young Adulthood/English Language Arts. Ed has a National Board Certification in Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Science Amy is the recipient of the prestigious Oppenheimer Family Foundation Teacher Incentive Grant for seven years in a row.
