Both Russell and Jason bring a wealth of individual teaching experience to STEMheads based on their years teaching in urban school districts across southern New Jersey. Russell is a 10 (?) year teaching veteran and has honed his craft in Special education classrooms. Technology and graphic design have become his passion, and he brings them to the classroom daily to facilitate authentic learning experiences. Jason, on the other hand, is a seventh grade math teacher, highly qualified in both mathematics and science, and has immersed himself in the world of STEM. Together, we have combined our teaching experiences to create a unique product which highlights STEM education, tech-driven engineering applications, as well as artistic graphic design and standards-based craftsmanship.
I think. I question. I design. I create. I struggle. I collaborate. I try. I try again. I solve. I invent. I reflect. I learn.
We have both been awarded the Dr. MLK, Jr. School Complex Teacher of the Year honors, as well as several teacher of the month accolades. As leaders of a school-wide STEM initiative, we have helped create an underwater robotics program which has competed in several regional competitions, quickly garnishing attention as up-and-coming stars.
Jason has his Bachelors in Education from Stockton University and is currently pursuing a Masters in STEM Education (K-8) at Walden University.
