TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After living in France for 8 months in college and again for a year after graduating, I have been a HS French teacher for more than 10 years. My students, from day one in French I, must use French to communicate with both myself and their peers. By the end of their HS career, many perform at a level consistent with advanced-level speakers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in a Simulated Immersion classroom in which both the student and teacher converse exclusively in the target language. Although I am not a native speaker, I feel that it is extremely important that they have the quantity of comprehensible input needed to become functionally fluent in French. I am very active and rely heavily on authentic resources (film, music, videos etc) as a way of encouraging my students to use French to create meaningful and worthwhile communication as well as to expose them to as much authentic culture and accents as possible! I have only begun uploading my resources... if you are looking for a specific unit or vocabulary set, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to upload what I have! I teach levels I, II, III, IV, AP, and VI, therefore I have a wide range of vocabulary and activities/worksheets/activities to share!
