Stephanie Jones is a Vocal/General Music teacher and Lead Teacher for the Elementary Vocal/General Music teachers in Webster School District. She is also the Past President of the NY Chapter of Gordon Institute for Music Learning. Ms. Jones has over 26 years of experience in the Elementary Music Classroom.
My teaching style is based on Gordon's Music Learning Theory with many eclectic influences. Technology is incorporated into daily lessons to facilitate student learning.
As a Choral teacher, Ms. Jones Choral groups have consistently received top honors at the Darien Lake Music Festival. For her work in technology, Ms. Jones has been named a â€œNew York State Model Teacherâ€ and has been the recipient of several technology grants. She was featured in the NYSSMA Views DVD working with the Smartboard and is a frequent presenter on using the Smartboard to teach Music in Rochester NY. She is listed in â€œWhoâ€™s Who of American Music Teachers.
I earned my Bachelorâ€™s degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music & my Masterâ€™s degree in Elementary Classroom from Nazareth College. I hold certification Levels I & II in Dr. Edwin Gordonâ€™s Music Learning Theory.
I currently resides in Webster, NY with my husband, our youngest son and 2 dogs with frequent visits from our oldest sons.
