I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and spent three years as a Writing and Reading Coach.
I don't think teachers should ever assume. We should empower our students with the ability to both work collaboratively and independently so that when we are gone, they still know how and are inspired to learn.

BS Elementary Education
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama graduating from Ramsay High School in 1990, started college at Samford University, and graduated from UAB with a degree in Elementary Education in the Spring of 1996. In 1996, I started teaching at a small inner-city private school until 2000. From 2000-2007, I taught third, fifth, and was a reading and writing coach in a local inner-city school system. After our second child was born, I took 4 years off teaching before coming back to teaching in 2011. Currently, I teach 2nd grade in a suburban school system in the area. I got married in 2000, and now have four children, three cats, two hermit crabs, and one guinea pig.
