TEACHING EXPERIENCE

15+ Experience teaching science to urban learners, many students are English Learners (EL). Courses include 7th grade Life Science, 8th grade Earth Science, Environmental science, and HS Earth and Space Systems. I specialize in middle level science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like students to do science. I use a combination of videos, pictures, simulations, labs, and physical activities to help students learn the concepts of science. My lessons are very visual and minds on. Very little time is spend lecturing and more time is spent having students finding their own answers. I use a inquiry based approach to teaching science but not boxed in by many of the inquiry models such as the 5E's.
