I have taught high school English for over two decades, and I love inventing ways for bettering student thinking and language processing. My experiences include teaching grades 9-12 at all levels, including AP English Literature and Composition. To understand better my students' academic futures, I have also taught evenings at several area colleges over the years.
My style begins with a core philosophy: If it doesn't exist, invent it! Grammar is boring? I designed a board game to foster competition in learning. Students love song lyrics? I founded a literary journal on lyricism to bridge the gap between poetry and song lyrics. Our students deserve fresh approaches!

I live what I teach! On a brief respite from teaching in 2014-15, I authored and published four novels: a crime novel and its sequel, a romantic comedy, and a collection of childhood stories. Additionally, I wrote a self-help book on getting out of debt. Going back to the late 90s, I founded and edited 'Lyricist Review,' an educational text that connected lyricism and literature. Finally, we have a lyricist winning the Nobel Prize in Literature!
