TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught reading and English at the middle school level for almost eight years before my first child was born. I've continued to develop my skills and practice, most recently publishing a book through Teacher's Discovery for Reading Workshop in the Secondary Classrom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Let's have fun and get moving! I love to engage kids in multiple ways. In my opinion, sitting behind a desk if for the birds (most of the time, anyway). The more kiddos move, the more they learn. I also like to think outside the box and create activities that may present a little more risk - to students and teachers alike. Not only do I want to provide my students with practical skills, but I want to challenge them to think for themselves and come to understand the world around them. By nature, I'm highly communicative, enthusiastic, dramatic, and just plain silly. I can't wait to partner with you to teach and encourage amazing thinkers, learners, and human beings!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've been a teacher for as long as I can remember. When I took time off to start a family, I realized my commitment to education didn't stop. Now I can share my knowledge, creativity, love of literature, and energy in classrooms around the country. Learning never stops, so why should teaching?
