I have been teaching 7th grade ELA for 30 years. Over the last 10 years, I have co-taught with a blended teacher on an inclusion team. I also have a minor in computer science and have infused technology into my classroom as another tool to engage my students. I am currently working as a Technology Integration Coach, leading and assisting students and teachers into a technological environment.
My teaching style has changed over the years and has centered on purposeful grouping with engaging activities in mind. Activities change often and are differentiated for diverse learning needs.
I have written and attained numerous grants over the years for programs and devices for our grade-level and department. Students have been exposed to the time periods of novels we have read through traveling companies such as Victorian Whispers. We also received 5 e-readers for students to use in our classroom.
I graduated with a degree in English from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY. I have two minors, one in Education and the other in Computer Science. I have a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Development from SUNY Oswego.
I am the wife of a high school math teacher and the mother of two wonderful daughters who both are attending college.
