I was a special education teacher for grades K-3 for 5 years. I was an instructor at Cleveland State University where I taught Phonics Assessment and Instruction as well as Literature Based Reading to undergraduates and graduates for over 3 years. Additionally, I taught Jr. Great Books for grades 2 & 3, Word Study for grades K-5 and I organized and taught an after school Word Study group for grades 4-5.
I believe in teaching children only at their instructional level.

I am a mother of three children ages 10, 8, 5. I recently published a book called Teach Your Child To Read In Less Than 10 Minutes A Day, Stretch & Catch Words. I developed the Stretch & Catch Method as an easy, effective tool for parents and teachers to use, to help children "see" patterns within words using their fingers. This method follows a very specific developmentally appropriate word list so that children only learn at their instructional level. I have also developed the ABC'S Positive Behavior Management System. This system includes a variety of strategies to help run a successful classroom. I'm very interested in all subjects areas. I love to find a variety of ways to help children learn new concepts.
