I've been teaching high school English as a Home Language since 2011. I have experience teaching remedial students as well as A+ learners. I have done a 150 hour TESOL course and also have experience teaching first year university students English for academic writing purposes. I am currently the debating co-ordinator for the debating club.
I employ the Socratic method of asking probing questions that elicit critical thinking. I encourage creative forms of verbal and written self reflection and expression. I use texts that promote humanitarian ideals. I promote a thirst for knowledge and reading as a means of obtaining that knowledge. I am a stickler for correct grammar.

I'm South-African born but a global citizen in terms of my thirst for knowledge of the rest of the world and our place in this universe (multiverse perhaps?). I'm also a globe trotter in theory since I love traveling and learning about other cultures, lifestyles, worldviews etc.
