TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently completing my Student Teaching Assignment with 6th and 7th grade Social Studies classes. I have previously worked as a paraprofessional in a 3rd grade class and 6th and 7th grade Social Studies classes. I am working towards an NJ teaching certificate and due graduate in the Spring of 2016.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I bring an approachable and creative demeanor into the classroom. The emphasis in the class is that it is "our class", and that my students and I are all working toward a common goal. Along this line of thought, I also emphasize teamwork and interaction in the classroom. The best way to learn anything is to do it. The future in education revolves around a student-based experience, long gone are the days of lecturing for a full lesson. Having been an aide for many years, my instinct is to create lessons that allow all students in the classroom to succeed. I was very much raised in the generation of technology, and infuse it into my lessons as much as possible.
