I have been teaching math in primary and secondary schools for over 30 years. I have been the Head of Math in four schools and been responsible for developing and implementing budgets, staff professional development and parent education. Currently I am lecturing in Primary Math Education at Charles Sturt University in Albury, Australia. Let me help you to become a math hero for your children.
Above all teaching should be about engagement, enjoyment and success. These are all possible when children understand the math they are learning. Enthusiasm is contagious. Let me help you become an enthusiastic math teacher. Discussion should be a regular feature of our math classes. When you have to explain something to someone you quickly learn how well you understand it.

I have always believed in the power of creativity and was fortunate to have started my teaching career as an art teacher. This taught me that all children are imaginative and creative, and that active involvement is a key feature of education. Now that I'm a grandfather I feel even more certain that we must foster creativity and flexibility in thinking.
