TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently work as a Disabilities Specialist for an autism resource center. I have an M.S. in Special Education and am a licensed Illinois teacher for grades K-9 with a LBS1 endorsement. I have experience working with elementary school age children in inclusive and self-contained settings. In addition, I am proficient in Structured Teaching, Boardmaker, and PECS.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Children with autism thrive when being exposed to a visually structured environment. I use "Structured Teaching" or the TEACCH method when consulting with educators and families. I believe this should be used throughout a child's day and lifetime.
