I've been teaching little sugar beans of various ages for the last 9 years. I worked at an early childhood enrichment center before graduating from Texas State. I student taught in a bilingual kindergarten classroom before beginning work as a bilingual PreK teacher. I've taught bilingual 1st grade for the last two years and have recently piloted a mentoring program at my school. I've served on the LPAC committee at my school as well as two Campus Advisory Committees.
I believe in high expectations for all students no matter their background, abilities, disabilities, or home language. I believe that warmth and acceptance are the key to reaching every student. "The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child." Carl Jung
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University's College of Education. During that time I worked at an accredited early childhood center and tutored university students from diverse backgrounds with special needs. I was also part of the Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO). I student taught in a bilingual kindergarten classroom before graduating and beginning work as a bilingual Pre-K teacher in Galveston, TX. I've worked as a bilingual 1st grade teacher in Austin, TX now for 2 years and love it!
My goal is to create bilingual products that require little color ink as well as to provide black and white options for all products. If my products can be improved upon in any way in order to better accommodate your teaching, please let me know! I appreciate any and all feedback!
