2014-15 marks my 17th year as a public schools teacher. I've worked in Title One and Equity schools for the duration, and my experiences occurred in elementary, primary, and intermediate schools located in Chesapeake and Norfolk, VA as well as Pitt County, NC. I've taught all varieties of inclusion as well as gifted clusters.
Leading with love and kindness is my main teaching style. I incorporate elements of many different styles into my daily methodology, including as many components of Maria Montessori's program whenever I can.
Love and respect from my students are my main rewards. Maintaining a relationship with them after I've taught them in class is an even greater honor.
I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan in 98 with a Bachelor's in English and a teaching certificate. I completed coursework for my Master's in Curriculum/Instruction with a Concentration in Computer Education in the fall of 2008.
