I have been a teacher for 42 years and my experience includes teaching middle school through high school students in a public school system. Classes included Biology, Middle School Science, High School History, all areas for GED, and English As a Second Language. With a Master's Degree in Education, I have taught all areas for the GED and worked 10 years teaching English as a Second Language for a Public School District. For the last 13 years I worked in a program teaching students who were in a treatment center for middle and high school students for various reasons including behavior disorder, and other problems.
The teaching styles I have had to use during my teaching career have been diverse because of the diversity of subjects and students in my classes. I have worked hard to reach my students at their level and to raise their skills in the areas that needed to be improved during the time in my classes.
I served as Department Chair of Middle School Science and as a Resource person for an Environmental Science program. Received Employee of the Month two times in 2013.
B. S. in Education (Biology, History) M.S. in Education with an emphasis on Adult Basic Education, GED and English as a Second Language.
