TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi there! I have eight years of teaching experience including 7th and 8th grade science for 7 years at my Alma-mater middle school in New Jersey!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that it is always worth the extra effort and time of thinking through unique, meaningful activities in order to make learning interesting, engaging, accessible, and tailored to student needs! I like to keep my students on their toes but also to make them feel at home in my classroom. I absolutely love teaching middle school because kids at this age need role models more than ever, and their innate curiosity is still very present!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have never been given an official award for my teaching service...however, what I consider to be even more meaningful rewards have come straight from my students: letters of thanks and those glowing, happy "eureka!" moments that only teachers really understand!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. in Environmental Science from Virginia Tech, M.S. Science Education with emphasis in Chemistry from University of Nebraska; certified in NJ to teach H.S. Biology and Chemistry and Elementary Education
