I have 13 years of teaching experience in grades 1-5 as well as 3 years of experience teaching dyslexia in 1st-2nd.
I strive to use technology and creative teaching methods to provide my students with engaging and interactive lessons. I began making video lessons in 2013, so my students could complete lessons independently while I taught small groups. This completely changed the way I taught. It gave me the freedom to work in-depth with small groups while knowing that my other students weren't just completing busy work. These video lessons allowed me to provide 1:1 lessons to students that could be paused, rewatched, assigned again, and sped up if needed. What was even more amazing was that the kids loved the video lessons! They were more engaged when completing an interactive lesson while watching the video than when we completed them as a whole class. I have learned a lot of tricks for making technology work for you to give you more time in the teaching day. This is how I prefer to teach!
