I've been a public school teacher for 20 years. I've taught 6th-8th grade health, mathematics, ecology, art & agriculture. I've taught 7th-12th Mathematics: Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, & Trigonometry/Precalculus. This is my first year (2012-2013) teaching Trigonometry/PreCalculus. I will post these Lessons & reference templates as I get them done. I have material for the other math subjects and will input those materials as time goes on.
I'm mostly a facilitator/ resource type teacher. I do like to do labs in math class as is possible given the standards I'm expected to cover. I provide lecture material with self made templates or guided directions for the students on how to take those notes. My class periods run 48min or 76min. So my lessons run in these two blocks of time.
Self awarded for posting to this site the work I've done the last 20 years. Certificated a NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher in Hawai'i. Participated in a " Career and Technical Education Math Problem-Solving Workshop" in 2009. Furloughed with pay cuts & still surviving. Completed 36 hours of the Project GLAD Teir I Training.
2003 Secondary Math Teacher's Institute. 2000 Therapeutic Aide Training. 2000 Cerified Fitness trainer: Youth Fitness (AFAA) Stress Management MAT Science. 1998 Interactive Math Program (IMP) year 1 trained. 1995 University of Hawai'i at Manoa- Math Certification. 1992 North Georgia College- Education Course work. 1990 GA. I've been teaching several years and the time has come to start to share that work with others. I homeschooled my own daughter in the 7th grade due to a strike here in Hawai'i. I pulled her out just before the strike and continued homeschooling her until the end of that school year. I went back to work as a teacher in High School at that time also.
