TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught two years of English language arts to 6th graders in rural North Carolina. I currently teach world history to 6th graders. I also worked for Duke University's Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) as a teaching assistant for two summers. I have worked with 7th and 8th graders during summer school sessions for additional support in ELA.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching approach is to always go back to the roots of what I know about teaching. Teaching is accepting multiple tasks and roles all at the same time and it can be overwhelming. I remind myself that I am a great teacher and I know what to do. I have intuition of teaching, and so do you. I build relationships with my students so that I can learn them individually and adapt to their learning needs. Therefore, for each assignment that I create, I create three different levels to accommodate for my students' learning needs.
