My name is Autumn and I am an elementary Life Skills Special Education teacher. I have been in this position since 2007. I have led a variety of professional development opportunities in my district including training around the Common Core State Standards, Alternate Assessment, Behavior Supports, and Differentiation. I provide inclusion support for elementary students throughout the district. In addition, I spent multiple years working with our state's Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as a consultant and state trainer for the alternate assessment.
I love to create hands on learning opportunities for my students. Many of my activities incorporate a variety of skills including fine motor, math, literacy, and communication. I like to create activities that can be prepped once and then used for years to come.
Yet to be added
I hold a B.Ed. in Special Education, a M.Ed. in Reading and Literacy and an additional endorsement in elementary education.
I have been a member of the Washington Education Association Special Education Training Cadre since 2009. We provide training to assure that educators and the families they serve have a clear understanding of state and federal rules and best practices related to students with disabilities.
