My name is Autumn and I am an elementary Life Skills Special Education teacher. I have been in this position since 2007. I have a passion for continuing education and have led a variety of professional development opportunities in my district including training around the Common Core State Standards, Alternate Assessment, Behavior Supports, and Differentiation. In addition, I spent 5 years working with the Washington State Special Education Cadre to offer education and training around special education law and the IEP process. I also spent multiple years working with our state's Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as a consultant and state trainer for the alternate assessment.
My goal is to help other special education teachers work smarter not harder. Many of the resources that I create are intended to help you put efficient systems in place, reducing your workload and leaving you more time to do what you love... working with your students! I love to create hands on learning opportunities for the classroom. Many of my activities can easily be differentiated to meet the needs of all students and incorporate a variety of skills including fine motor, math, literacy, and communication. I like to create activities that can be prepped once and then used for years to come, saving you valuable time in the long run.
