I have been active in the ESL/Bilingual education community for 20 years. I started my career in Teach for America teaching math and science in Houston. My experience includes 9 years of classroom teaching in urban schools, two masters degrees (ESL/bilingual ed and administration), and administrative positions in high school and at the district level. I currently am a full-time consulting working with schools utilizing SAMPLE to improve their intake process and elevate their instruction for new English language learners.
Classroom community is what I am all about. Students need to feel comfortable and valued for who they are and what they bring to the classroom. Then the sky is the limit for their academic and personal potential.
