TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at Clemson Elementary School. I have taught 4K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. On top of that, I own a mission-based organization, Money Cents For Kids, that provides professional development and classroom materials for kindergarten through eighth-grade classrooms. Visit www.mc4k.com to learn more.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in providing a student-centered classroom for the most effective educational experience. My students run the show, I'm merely there to plan the curriculum that they experience.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am currently a 2013 Presidential Award for Mathematics and Science Teaching finalist (for math). I am also a National Board Certified Teacher and have been honored with WYFF 4's Golden Apple Award.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Clemson University in 2001. In order to become a teacher, I went on to earn a Master of Art in Teaching Degree from the College of Charleston in 2003. Being addicted to school, I earned an Education Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University in 2009. Next semester I will begin my Ph.D. at Clemson University.
