Regional Literacy Consultant • Responsible for nine county area to develop, implement, design and assist teachers in trainings or classrooms with literacy strategies and programs such as Four Block, Dibels, Wireless Generation, Curriculum Maps, Differentiated Instruction, Write Traits, Strategic Reading, Failures Not An Option, Freshmen Academy, Professional Learning Communities, Simple Six, and others. • Develop, present and facilitate workshops from small school based facilities to large conference Settings (Reading in content, Writing Across Curriculum, Secondary Reading Strategies, Classroom Walk Through, Traits, Writing Process, Reading Comprehension, Simple 6, and Quality Rubrics) • Assess, design and write grant proposals for identified schools based on school goals and areas of need • Provide demonstration, modeling, feedback and coaching to teachers/teams with on-going interaction to encourage implementation • Facilitate and guide discussions between administration and staff to achieve overall success of a learning facility; participated in and facilitated implementation of Failures Not An Option • Received theory and personal training from leading educational researchers such as Vickie Spandel, Barry Lane, Carol Ann Tomlinson, Dr. Ruth Kaminski, Dr. Roland Good, Dr. Dorothy Hall, Roberta Williams, Michael Heggerty, Cheryl Sigmon, Rachael Billmeyer, and Alan Blankstein. • Develop and maintain relationships with secondary educators to establish Best Practice, Curriculum Alignment, Consensus Maps, Diary Maps, Quarterly maps and others. • Create Professional Learning Communities at various grade levels to analyze data, review assessment, Best Practice, collaboration, implement research based instruction, etc.
