TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught for 25 years - music, integrated arts, literacy and mathematics, at all levels from pre-K through post-graduate school. I founded and am the President of aeIDEAS.com, a consulting and publishing company designed to make a difference in children's lives and learning. As an international consultant, I've shared with teachers, schools, agencies, media organizations; now training teachers in Total Learning, a multimodal approach to early learning. I'm a Senior author, McGraw-Hill School Solutions, and also author of Nine Rubies: Broken silence of a daughter of revolutionary Iran.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a highly interactive, discovery-based teaching style, where students are constantly engaged and challenged - each at her or his own level. Depending on what is being taught, and what stage students are in their learning, my style ranges from direct instruction to facilitator, mentor, co-learner, manager, etc. Wouldn't it be boring to be just one thing all the time?
