I have taught a wide range of grade-levels. Very early in my career, I went from teaching preK one semester to high school the next. (Long story!) From that experience, I learned that age does not matter... all humans learn the same way. After spending many years as a classroom teacher, I became a reading specialist, curriculum consultant, and author.
I believe that "teaching style" should be entirely based on how humans are naturally *designed* to learn and built upon students' strengths. The learning experience must be highly relevant to students' life experiences, rich in tangible experiences, and connected to emotional engagement. I have deeply studied the brain biology of learning and utilize this understanding to develop strategies that are aligned to how our brains work... whether we are 4 or 44.
