Teaching children was my passion for 32 years in Pre K, Kindergarten, First, Second and Third grade classrooms. A colleague and I co-authored "Storycases: Book Surprises to Take Home." My work as a national presenter for SDE and SDW coupled with the travel and connections to teachers throughout the country provided me with opportunities that helped me grow as a learner. I continue to work as an educational consultant and will probably never tire of it. Hello and thanks to all of you I may have met in my travels. Would love to hear from you and have you follow me on TPT. The T.A.B.L.E. Conference Retreat in Vermont evolved from collaboration with fellow presenters in an effort to provide teachers with a place where they could relax, reflect and renew. Our goal was to treat teachers as professionals, celebrate their craft knowledge in a respectful way and give them voice by providing comfortable accommodations and great food. We invited children's authors and musicians to join us. This is what I discovered somewhere along the way. All elementary teachers love the same thing. Children. They all gripe about the same things. You guess. They all want the same things. Respect and Success. The magic I found that makes all of that easier is music. I recently completed a longterm project with musician Rick Charette which I would like to share with you.COMMON CHORDS:Music as an Instructional Tool. Please visit my store and let me know what you need.
Actively involve children with music and movement to create a classroom community where they feel comfortable taking risks.I believe all children can learn in this type of setting when provided with developmentally appropriate experiences. My passions are children's literature, music for the classroom and providing parents with easy activities to do at home with their child. My plan is to continue writing for my other musician friends: Red Grammar, Tom Chapin, Bill Harley, If you have a particular song that you would like to use let me know.
