TEACHING EXPERIENCE

For the past six years, I've taught middle school and high school English. Courses taught include: pre-AP, expository reading writing, yearbook, and broadcast journalism

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm all about trying new things in the classroom, so I constantly ask myself, "What if?" What if we read outside? What if I arrange desks this way? What if I supplement that poem with a clip of The Simpsons. My ideas and lessons are inspired by the ideas of my colleagues, students, Twitter, pop culture, music, and the world around me. I teach with the idea that there's always something to improve, and so I obsessively work to refine and adapt my teaching to reflect the needs of my students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the California State University of Fullerton with a degree in English. I am in the process of going back for my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction.
