TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Just starting out the winding (and often exhausting) road that is teaching! I've taught second, third and fourth grade and who knows where I'll end up next!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach in a Title I school with a very diverse population. I believe that in order to truly educate our students we need to reach them at THEIR level. My materials are filled with fun and creative ways to help get students up and active so they can be as engaged as possible! I particularly empathize with the struggle of teaching content specific vocabulary to a population that already struggles with English. To combat this, I've created a lot of hands on experiences that stick to the age old saying "show not tell"!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

As lame as it sounds, I love school! My mom once said it seemed like my life objective was to get into as much student debt as possible before I die- I'm getting there, honey! I graduated from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a major in Latin American Policy (that ended up helping a lot as a teacher of mostly Hispanic students so take that mom!). Then, after dabbling in the non-profit world, I decided to get my Masters of Education from University of Maryland. I'm currently getting credited as an English Language Instructor at Trevecca University.
