TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught both third and fifth grades as a classroom teacher for eight years before earning an art certificate and teaching art for the next twenty years. I am presently working as a reading interventionist in a local public elementary school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel most successful when I can integrate something creative in with my lessons, whether it be writing, drawing, singing, acting or dancing. I think it makes learning more memorable.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Building Teacher of the Year - 2008

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Earned my B.S. In Elementary Education from The University of Missouri St. Louis in 1987 and earned a Masters in Teaching from Webster University in 1995. I took additional classes at Webster to gain my art certificate, and several years later obtained my Masters plus 30 credits in education as well.
