TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Seventeen years ago, I embarked on what I never imagined would evolve into a veritable teaching odyssey. Returning to my alma mater, my journey began in a 7th grade English classroom. When my first child reached school age, I changed course and began homeschooling. These unchartered waters gave me a deep appreciation for elementary teachers and the responsibility they have to simply teach everything! After 7 years, I found myself in an eddy which led me right back to my starting place: With my children entering school, I returned to my alma mater where I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade English. The tides, however, have recently turned and have brought with them the chance to round out my experience teaching both English and history in a private Montessori school.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

"YES!" the stationery-sized letter read, just under the greeting. I had indeed been accepted early to Princeton University. Two weeks into my second semester, however, I determined I was having an allergic reaction to my hometown university and definitively decided, "No, thank you." After transferring to Rutgers College of Rutgers University, I graduated with a double major in English and Political Science.
