I began my career as a Literacy Specialist, teaching K-5. I moved on to fourth grade after that for five years. Next, I taught second grade for two years moved to third grade, and even looped from third to fourth! Currently, I am an instructional coach for grades 1-6.
I believe in differentiating as much as possible, which is why I focus my teaching on small, flexible, heterogeneous grouping. I utilize a lot of center activities and I absolutely love my version of the Daily Five!
I have been nominated for New York State Teacher of the Year.
I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelors in Elementary Education and History. From there, I went on to a 14 month dual certification masters program at SUNY Albany in Special Education and Literacy.
In addition, I have a new baby! Violet Harper, my toddler, is excited to welcome her baby brother, Braxton Wilder. We're thrilled!
