I began my career as a Literacy Specialist, teaching K-5. I moved on to fourth grade after that for five years. Next, I taught second grade for two years and I am currently teaching third grade.
I believe in differentiating as much as possible, which is why I focus my teaching on small, flexible, heterogeneous grouping. I utilize a lot of center activities and I absolutely love my version of the Daily Five!
I'm currently working on my National Board Certification. I am also a Seesaw Ambassador! I’ve been using the Seesaw app- an awesome, free digital portfolio and parent communication tool. Sign up today using my link and we’ll both get an extra month of their premium features for free! https://app.seesaw.me/invite/?code=vL10gDRetzL7BkX-iIg2SgKprVuf_GQIrY9dtWZaSvBS_1uzC6WGgMXKY9M_5pP6PHU0r56gT54Wkq0meuEV9g%3D%3D&type=REF Let me know if you need help getting going - I really think you'll love it!
I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelors in Elementary Education and History. From there, I went on to a 14 month dual certification masters program at SUNY Albany in Special Education and Literacy.
In addition, I have the most adorable little puppy in the world. A bit naughty, but her cuteness makes up for it!
