I am a fourth year teacher in Louisiana. I am currently a 5th Grade Self- Contained teacher. I have also taught 6th grade ELA, 5th grade Science, and 5th-7th grade honors enrichment.
Communication: A major part of my teaching philosophy is based on the idea of providing students with not only the materials and knowledge needed to pass to the next grade, but to become well rounded citizens later in life. With that being said, I am all about working as a team that involves the teachers, the students, and the parents. Communication between all three is key to providing students with the information and skills needed to succeed. Collaboration: You should never have to do it alone! This is why I am blessed to say that I work with a group of collaborative teachers whose main goal is to ensure a smooth transition from class to class as well as an overlap of topics between subject areas. Responsibility: Being a middle schooler brings on many new things, including a lot more responsibility. So my students are given all the tools needed to succeed in my class and it is up to them to use them accordingly. This will help to prepare them for other academic settings later in life.
