I love teaching title one and have been for the past 9 years! I started my educational career as our school’s special education teacher. I taught special education for 2 years and a first grade position came available in our building. I switched position and fell in love with first grade.
I believe in project-based learning! In my classroom we have a focus for each month. During the month we read books, go on field trips and complete projects on the topic. I love to find fun craft projects on TPT to go along with our learning. Our school has a lot riding on our data. With that I use many materials, both that I have made and others to support number sense and reading foundations.
I was humbled to be a part of HOPE training videos to assist beginning teachers and districts learning how to use their data to support classroom instruction.
From a classroom of stuffed animals to a classroom of children I started my career at the University of Saint Francis. I have a dual degree in special education and elementary education.
