TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently I am a Reading Specialist in a K-4 elementary school. My role includes administering assessments, overseeing our school's Reading RtI program, assisting classroom teachers with reading interventions, school-wide reading incentives, and the planning and instruction of small-group intervention lessons with students performing below benchmark levels. Previously, I taught first grade for eleven years and third grade for two years. This is my second year as a Reading Specialist.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to keep up with the latest research in reading interventions and instruction. Finding the perfect recipe for a struggling reader is a challenge that I enjoy. I learn from each student that I work with, and am continuously adding new strategies and ideas to my toolbox. I also enjoy helping my co-workers find new ways to address reading difficulties in their classrooms.
