This is my 13th year working as a speech language pathologist. I have experience providing speech-language services for children in elementary school, middle school, private practice, and outpatient rehabilitation settings. I currently work at an elementary school in the metro-Atlanta area serving students with articulation, receptive/expressive language, and fluency disorders. Many of my students are children with autism, specific learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. I blog about best practices in speech-language therapy/education and effective instructional resources at bslspeechlanguage.com.
I strive to instill a love for learning while building effective communication, language, literacy, and social skills in my students. I believe that it's critical to show kids that you care about them because that is a foundation for their success. I also believe that speech-language therapy activities should be fun, functional & educationally relevant. The majority of my products relate to the E/LA Common Core State Standards.
