I have thirteen years of experience as an Educator. I earned a Master’s degree of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina in 2002, and also achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescence English Language Arts in 2008. I have taught in an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program where the focus is bringing world concepts into the curriculum and promoting Community and Service as a product. I have also taught in DoDEA schools, as well as schools in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. My husband is in the U.S. Army which has given me these opportunities. Before I became a teacher, I was a newspaper journalist as my Bachelor’s degree is in Media Communication.
