I have 18 years of experience teaching elementary music, grades K through 6th. I am the Level 1 Pedagogy and Folk Song Analysis teacher at the Colorado Kodály Institute at Colorado State University. I serve on the Organization of American Kodály Educator national board as a Member at Large.
I am a Kodály inspired teacher. I also unitize some Orff and Dalcroze based music activities in my classroom.
I have presented music education workshops and sessions for several Colorado school districts, Colorado Music Educators Association (Colorado NAFME,) ROCKE (Colorado Kodály chapter,) RMC-AOSA (Colorado Orff chapter), NKE (Northwest Kodály Educators,) OAKE (Organization of American Kodály Educators).
I earned my Masters of Music Education with Kodály Emphasis from Colorado State University in 2006. I continue my professional development through Colorado music education workshops offered through ROCKE (Regional Organization of Kodály Educators,) , RMC-AOSA (Rocky Mountain Chapter American Orff Schuwerk Association), NAFME, and the Organization of American Kodály Educators National Conference.
I am a happy mom of a young boy and girl and wife of the art teacher. With the little free time I have I love to play electric bass and sing rock tunes in a band!
