I have been teaching since I was 19 years old. I started as an after school art teacher and then moved onto teaching Pre-K at a private facility. I am now teaching 3rd grade with Portland Public Schools.
I'm am very open, and honest with my students. I believe in clear expectations and having fun in the classroom. I also love messy projects and anything that is super hands on!
I was teacher of the quarter one year at the private school where I taught Pre-K. It made me feel very special and appreciated. I think my proudest teaching moment was getting my entire Pre-K class reading and writing before they left for kindergarten. It was a goal I set at the beginning of the year and each of those kids had a great time learning!
BS in Printmaking from Portland state University with a minor in Art History and Women's Studies. Master of Arts in Teaching ECE/ELE from Concordia University.
I live in Portland OR, with my amazingly supportive husband, and our silly dachshund (who I am slightly obsessed with). Check out my website for more information about me and my teaching style! http://tabrown9410.wix.com/mrs-browns-classroom
