TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 20 years experience in education. I've taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, Middle School Language Arts, Middle School Math, and a variety of other subject areas. I also have experience as an administrator, but teaching is what I love best!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to engage the students in mathematics through the mathematical processes. Students learn best when they are taught well-rounded concepts rather than simply procedures. Through problem solving, daily mental math, daily computation practice, and conceptual lessons, my hope is that all students learn that math makes sense!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

National Board Certificate in Young Adult Language Arts, 2001 - 2011; Master Teacher Designation - State of Ohio

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

* Lander University: Greenwood, South Carolina * Wilmington College: Wilmington, Ohio * University of Dayton: Dayton, Ohio

I believe spending quality time with my own family is what's most important. Hopefully my lessons will allow you to feel great about what you are teaching, but still allow you to spend as much time with your family as possible!
