TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a teacher of world languages (German, Russian). In my 18 years of teaching, I have also taught special education and ESL students, helping them be successful in all subjects. Teaching struggling readers to read is one of my greatest passions.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is mixed. I am often a demonstrator for my students of languages. I let my students experience the target language through movement, songs, skits, story-telling, book-making, plenty of visuals, manipulatives, and games. With my struggling readers of English, I am often a demonstrator and a facilitator as I help them become fluent readers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In my three years of teaching special education, I received an award for most gains in my students' achievement. My students of German have participated in annual contests in Georgia and have also received superior ratings. I have also participated in the development of World Language Standards for the state of Georgia.

I am originally from Moscow, Russia. After my studies at Moscow Linguistic University, I came to attend college in the United States. I have been an "eternal student" since then and a teacher for 18 years.
