My new challenge for this year is homeroom 5/6 French Immersion! (our math stays in english though) I am always up for a challenge. I teach in a trilingual school on a First Nations reserve just outside Montreal, Canada. Being trilingual is very important to the community, and I do my best to be able to speak and use all 3 languages. I myself am bilingual (English and French). I also studied Spanish in high school, and Sanskrit in university. Now that my fiancee and school are Mohawk, I am doing my best to learn Mohawk as well. Learning languages is beneficial on so many levels academically and socially, I am so proud of my students for committing to becoming trilingual. I also understand the unique struggle of an immersion learner, spending all day in school not in your primary language. My work is geared specifically for second language learners and their challenges to grasp a new language.
hands-on, applied learning, team-based, discussion-oriented, problem solving ...
smiles and thanks from students and parents.

Hello, I am a 3rd year teacher from Montreal trying to provide fun, meaningful, learning opportunities for my students. Teaching is my passion! I started working with special needs students as a part-time job when I was 18 years old. And, after 6 years of wonderful work with children with autism I decided to dedicate the rest of my life to children's learning.
I began my first year teaching grade 5/6 in the English stream and have now done 2 years teaching grade 5 and now 5/6 in the French immersion stream. I teach at a First Nations school in Kahnawake, just outside of Montreal, Canada.
My students are trilingual: English as their home language, Mohawk (Kanien'keha) as their second language, and French as their third language. Our school has a strong focus on supporting and promoting Mohawk culture through language classes, school-wide and community-wide socials, and our new Tsi Niiowariho:ten curriculum (Mohawk integrated curriculum into all aspects of teaching).
In my personal life I am recently married to the love of my life, we have a beautiful french bulldog puppy, and are looking forward to starting our family. I really enjoy drinking tea: calms the mind, soothes the soul!
