TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 18 years. In that time I have taught K-5. I remember how much I struggled with math as a kid. It is my mission to try to reach kids in math in the best way possible. That means games, funny sayings that stick, explicit instruction and meaningful ways to practice until mastery is gained. I love teaching kids to love to read. Igniting their passion for reading goes beyond book reports and required reading. I work hard to find ways to get them to understand their stories on a deeper level and in turn share their love of reading with others. To ensure that all my students gain mastery in math and acquire the necessary skills to love to read, I am seeking ways to increase student engagement. Engagement means everyone does everything all the time. I hope the products in my store will meet these three personal classroom goals. I hope you will find them useful as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands on learning with a focus on engagement. It's my job to engage children in all aspects of their instruction and make the learning as fun and as meaningful as possible.
